Greystone Medical Female Intermittent Catheter is a 6-inch, straight-tip, non-lubricated single-use urinary catheter designed for temporary bladder drainage in adult female patients. At 6 inches, it is sized specifically for the shorter female urethra, making it more compact and easier to handle than standard male-length catheters. It is available in six French sizes — 8Fr, 10Fr, 12Fr, 14Fr, 16Fr, and 18Fr — and is an Rx-only device for use by or under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
Designed for Female Anatomy
The female urethra is significantly shorter than the male urethra — typically 1.5 to 2 inches — meaning a shorter catheter is entirely sufficient for reaching the bladder. The 6-inch length provides enough shaft to handle comfortably while avoiding the excess length of a standard male catheter, making self-catheterization more manageable for female patients performing the procedure independently at home.
Non-Lubricated Design
This catheter requires separate application of lubricating jelly before insertion, giving clinicians and patients full control over the type and amount of lubricant used. This can be particularly important for patients with specific sensitivities or preferences, or where a particular lubricant is clinically indicated. Standard sterile lubricating jelly should be applied to the tip and shaft immediately before each use.

The package also includes a catheter fixation pad — an adhesive securement device that can be used to anchor tubing to the skin, helping maintain a clean and organized setup throughout the catheterization procedure.
