What It Is
Greystone Medical Male Intermittent Catheter is a 16-inch, straight-tip, non-lubricated single-use urinary catheter designed for temporary bladder drainage in adult male patients. The 16-inch length accommodates the longer male urethra, ensuring the catheter reaches the bladder reliably. It is available in six French sizes — 8Fr, 10Fr, 12Fr, 14Fr, 16Fr, and 18Fr — and is an Rx-only device for use by or under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
Non-Lubricated Design
Unlike pre-lubricated or hydrophilic catheters, this catheter requires separate application of lubricating jelly before insertion. This gives clinicians and patients full control over the type and amount of lubricant used, which can be important for patients with specific sensitivities, preferences, or clinical requirements. Standard sterile lubricating jelly is applied to the tip and shaft immediately before each use.
Straight Tip for Standard Catheterization
The straight tip is the most commonly used catheter tip style and is suitable for most male patients without urethral obstruction or anatomical complications. Polished drainage eyelets at the catheter tip support efficient urine outflow while minimizing the risk of urethral mucosal irritation during insertion and withdrawal.
Material & Safety
The catheter is manufactured free of BPA, DEHP, and natural rubber latex, reducing the risk of chemical exposure and latex-related allergic reactions. This makes it a suitable option for patients with latex sensitivities or those who undergo frequent intermittent catheterization as part of their ongoing bladder management routine.
Sterile Packaging & Included Fixation Pad
Each catheter is individually wrapped in easy-open sterile packaging that maintains sterility until the moment of use. The package also includes a catheter fixation pad — an adhesive securement device that can be used to anchor tubing to the skin, helping maintain an organized and stable setup throughout the catheterization procedure.
