What It Is
Greystone Medical Male Intermittent Catheter with Coude Tip is a single-use, sterile urinary catheter designed for men who require temporary bladder drainage and have difficulty with standard straight-tip catheter insertion. It is available in four French sizes — 12Fr, 14Fr, 16Fr, and 18Fr — each color-coded for quick and accurate identification. It is an Rx-only device for use by or under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
Why Coude Tip
The coude tip — from the French word for “bent” — features a slightly angled or curved tip that is specifically designed to navigate the anatomical curves of the male urethra more easily than a straight-tip catheter. This makes it particularly well-suited for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urethral strictures, prior urological surgery, or other conditions that make standard catheter insertion difficult or uncomfortable. The tip is always inserted with the curve oriented upward to guide it smoothly past obstructions.
Material & Safety
The catheter is manufactured free of BPA, DEHP, and natural rubber latex, reducing the risk of chemical exposure and allergic reactions during use. This makes it a suitable option for patients with latex sensitivities or those who require repeated catheterization over time.
Smooth Insertion Design
Polished drainage eyelets at the catheter tip allow efficient urine outflow while minimizing the risk of urethral mucosal trauma during insertion and withdrawal. The catheter shaft is designed to be smooth and flexible enough for patient comfort while maintaining sufficient rigidity for controlled insertion.
Color-Coded Sizing
The color-coded connector at the funnel end allows for rapid identification of the correct French size, which is especially useful in clinical settings where multiple catheter sizes are in use simultaneously, reducing the risk of size selection errors.
Sterile Packaging & Included Fixation Pad
Each catheter is individually wrapped in easy-open sterile packaging that maintains sterility until the moment of use. The package also includes a catheter fixation pad — an adhesive securement device that can be used to anchor tubing to the skin during the procedure, helping minimize movement and maintaining a clean, organized setup.
