How This Product Works
The Safe N Simple Skin Barrier Ring Conforming Seal acts as a protective, customizable gasket that fills in the uneven dips, scars, and creases of your peristomal skin. Made from a highly absorbent hydrocolloid material, the ring stretches and molds effortlessly to form a secure, airtight seal right around the base of a stoma. As it interacts with body heat and moisture, it swells slightly to “turtleneck” around the stoma, blocking corrosive output from sliding underneath your ostomy wafer. To give your skin some extra love, the ring is uniquely infused with aloe vera and zinc oxide, which work together actively to soothe redness, calm irritation, and prevent painful skin breakdown.
Where to Use This Product
This product is specifically designed for the peristomal skin area—the sensitive skin directly surrounding a stoma. It is fully compatible with one-piece or two-piece ostomy pouching systems for colostomies, ileostomies, and urostomies. If you struggle with frequent leaks, liquid output, or uneven abdominal contours that make your standard ostomy wafer lift, this ring is your go-to solution.
Directions for Use
Begin by thoroughly cleaning and drying the skin around your stoma. Ensure the area is completely free of oils, soaps, or heavy residues. Remove the flexible ring from its protective clear plastic packaging. Gently stretch or mold the ring with your fingers until the center opening matches the shape and size of your stoma. You can apply the ring directly to your body around the stoma or press it flat onto the sticky back of your ostomy wafer first. Smooth the ring down firmly to ensure zero gaps, then apply your ostomy pouching system as usual, holding it in place with warm hands for a few moments to activate the adhesive.
Storage & Handling
To keep your skin barrier rings performing at their best, store the box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, humidity, and excessive heat. Hydrocolloid materials are sensitive to temperature changes; exposing them to high heat can cause them to melt, lose their shape, or become overly sticky before application. It is best to keep the units sealed inside their original box until you are ready to use them to maintain their moisture-absorbing properties and keep them perfectly sterile.
